Train 324 - delayed 92 minutes into Union Station due to a mechanical problem which forced train 326 to have to couple to it and shove it into Washington. FRCs were handed out on board to those delayed 30 minutes or more.
Train 326 - delayed 62 minutes into Union Station due to coupling to train 324 and having to stop twice at several stations from Burke Centre to Union Station to detrain passengers from both trains 324 and 326. FRCs were hande out on board to those delayed 30 minutes or more.
Train 328 - delayed 41 minutes into Union Station following trains 324 and 326. FRCs were handed out on board to those delayed 30 minutes or more.

Summary of Delays

In the morning, switch problems caused delays for several Manassas line trains. Additionally, an equipment problem discovered during an overnight inspection of train 330's equipment forced the cancellation of that train. Since then changes to equipment have been made and full Manassas line afternoon and evening service was operated.

In the evening, a CSX freight train became disabled and went into emergency braking as it was crossing from one track to the other at Featherstone (just north of Rippon station). The train had to be inspected before it was able to be moved again. When the train was moved so as not to block both tracks, three northbound trains had to clear the reopened track south of the crossover switch before the line was clear for southbound trains to move.

Train 330 - canceled due to equipment problems discovered during an overnight inspection of the train at Broad Run/Airport. FRCs were handed out on board train 332 to those affected and were offered the morning of December 7 on board to those who used alternate transportation.
Train 332 - delayed 20 minutes into Union Station due to switch problems between Backlick Road and Alexandria and following train 310 into Union Station.

Train 309 - delayed 111 minutes into Fredericksburg due to a disabled CSX freight train blocking both tracks at Featherstone (just north of Rippon station). FRCs were handed out on board to those delayed 30 minutes or more.
Train 311 - delayed 80 minutes into Fredericksburg due to a disabled CSX freight train blocking both tracks at Featherstone (just north of Rippon station). FRCs were handed out on board to those delayed 30 minutes or more.

Train 331 - delayed 10 minutes into Broad Run/Airport due to following a CSX freight train between Crystal City and Alexandria, longer than usual passenger dwell times and waiting for an Amtrak train to clear the track ahead near Manassas.
