Summary of Delays
In the afternoon and evening, several factors came together to produce delays. A switch malfunctioned at RO (between L'Enfant and Crystal City), causing delays as engineers had to receive special instructions to pass the switch. Heat restrictions and unusually severe train congestion produced resulted in additional delays to Fredericksburg line trains.

Summary of Delays
In the morning, mechanical problems with the locomotive caused us to have to change locomotives on the train. In the afternoon and evening, a "sun kink" forced CSX to take one of the two tracks between Alexandria and Franconia/Springfield out of service, forcing all remaining train traffic onto the remaining track. Heat restrictions were also in effect.

Train 307 - delayed 21 minutes due to heat restrictions and increased passenger dwell times.
Train 311 - delayed 10 minutes due to heat restrictions and following CSX equipment moving into place to repair the "sun kink" South of Alexandria.
Train 327 - delayed 7 minutes due to train congestion at Alexandria.
Train 331 -
delayed 8 minutes due to increased passenger dwell times.
Train 333 - delayed 17 minutes due to mechanical problems.
